Hello.
recently i covered spam, and told you to report it, belive it or not, spam has a brother.
What is the brother, then?
It's called chain-mail. The only difference here, however, is that it has a good and bad side (Unlike spam, who is nothing more than a bad problem, like a weed in a garden.)
The good side are mostly nice little messages about angels and what-not. like so
someone wrote:
If you post this on 5 projects, angels will be on your shoulders.
Although that's rather nice, you have to remember that 1: nothing will happen and 2: It's spam.
now the bad side is more sinister, as it makes cruel death-threats to get a reaction.
Someone wrote:
You may not know this, but i am dead. if you don't post this on 5 projects in 24 hours, I will curse you house to burn down with you inside, if you post 5 times by tommorow, it will be the best day of your life
Not nice, eh?
now here is the do's and don'ts of this.
Do:
1:Remember that unless the poster of the message is that creepy kid next door who plays MW2 all the time, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. If it is the kid next door, tell your parents.
2:Report, As little children may believe the message and post it to thier friends, and that can lead to arguments in the real world. So there is a connection to the real world and the internet world when it comes to Chain-Mail. (You may have never known that, untill now.)
Don't
1: Post it to someone else because you got it, because that's just asking for trouble. The only thing that will happen by doing so is you losing friends.
2: Be encouraged to create your own. Just because it scares your little sister does not mean you should post it on scratch or any other kids site on the internet, as you can get banned for good.
Thanks for reading.

Great - I feel bad though, even when I know it's fake I can't help feeling nervous.

And what about that one with your crush's name and all that? Have you ever seen that one?

I have, multiple times.
I think it goes somthing like this:
If you are reading this then don't stop. Copy this message onto 23 topics in the next 5 minutes then press F4 and your crush's name will appear on your computer screen in big pink letters
Nice guide btw

I once encountered something like this on [sitename removed by author] and being 7 years old at that time, I tried it. Guess what? The next day did not happen to be the best day of my life. I posted an epic fail comment as a reply. About 3 weeks later, a mod deleted the chain mail.

Actually, there is a even lighter side. There is actually chainmail that have useful information! Like, my dad has gotten one about Brown Recluse spiders, and how to avoid them. It was useful AND informational!
Not all chainmail is bad.

I'm not sure if that counts as chainmail... Did it tell people to post a certain message on other places too?

Well, if it said something like,"7 tips on how to protect yourself from viruses!" and ended with"Post this message somewhere else so others can benefit!" doesn't seem harmful.

It isn't, that's good chainmail.

Post this on 5 topics by tomorrow and it will be the best day of your life. All your dreams and wishes will come true. Otherwise, your house will burn down with you inside.
(sorry, I just had to do that)

That spam is common on Roblox and Youtube.

I hate the Carmen Winstead chain text. It scares me.

Have you heard about the "OMG WHATS THE POINT OF THIS" chainmail? It goes...
Post this on 10 threads by tomorrow or your toenail will grow 0.00001 micrometers longer. If you don't, your toenail will grow 0.00002 micrometers longer.

Helltank, if you want to do that, I suggest you go to the TBG
This thread is for preventing this, not for getting spammed by you with chainmail

My "friends" keep sending me that. When I get Chain E-Mail I like to send a message via "return all" saying that I cannot believe how stupid they all are. *evil face*

If you ever seen a girl-game site, you maybe see like almost 100 chain mail comments like the one here: post this on 10 other game sites and press F4 and your crush name will appear on your screen. That's just chain mail that isn't real. If you see posts like that, report the person who did it because a child could tell a friend it and disappoint them.

Same. Once, I got a 'Carmen Winstead' message on my phone and I was so scared to do anything in case Carmen realised I hadn't forwarded her text on to 20 people...
Great guide!!
