Since scratch 2.0 is going to be in flash, I had this idea since people were worrying that it might look different.
How about themes? It would change the look and layout of scratch to the liking of the user. There could be starter themes, and then you could make your own!
Scratch Classic (The way it looks now)
Beginners (scratch with explanations of everything underneath, good for little kids or complete newbies)
Advanced (scratch with advanced features and layout)
Text scratch (text version of scratch)
New Scratch (How ever the want it to look in the new version)
Has anyone ever heard of weebly? It lets you make websites. The create your own theme could be like that!
I hope this idea is implemented!
Thanks, and Scratch On!

That'd be really cool! I'd use the classic theme for sure. As an added bonus, what if you could customize the colors?
That's why I was talking about weebly, you can change the colors and stuff. I would use the classic theme too

Yeah. But at least have the option to have it look like classic version of scratch and the new one xD

First of all, the Scratch you download will still be programed in Squeak Smalltalk, but they will be adding an online Scratch where you can build or remix projects and share them, all in your own web browser!
Second, I think all of those would be pretty useful for the Scratch Community, but I think the reason they have decided not to impliment an advanced Scratch is because they are already too busy. But then again, you could use the other Scratch Mods, like BYOB (Build your own Blocks) and Panther, for example.

Nope. Both online and offline versions are getting a complete rewrite to deal with the current compatibility issues with the online player.

That's true, for sure. The Scratch Team, however, have mentioned that Scratch 1.x will still be supported - and it'll last for a long time on computers without Flash.
