This is a feature request: it would be GREAT to have cyrillic letters supported at least in the file system - I have russian Windows XP, and filenames in cyrillic are just usual. Now they are presented wrong.
The best thing would be russian names for tiles, I would as well volunteer as the translator into Russian.

Hi, Piter.
Unfortunately, Scratch currently only supports the Latin character set. It has it's own fonts, which is why you can't see cyrillic letters in Scratch even though your Windows XP has those fonts. We hope to add support for Unicode and localized fonts to Scratch over the next year, however it's a pretty big job and it's hard to know exactly how long it will take.
Once we have the underlying support in place, I would love your help to translate Scratch into Russian.
