I got this error message when trying to open a project:

It was for this project: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Billybob-Mario/980927

To view it in the Experimental Viewer go here: http://scratch.mit.edu/experimental/vie … rio/980927

Looking at the project notes on that project, it was made with a modified version of Scratch, and uses blocks that are not in regular Scratch... is it possible that the code for those blocks isn't supported by the Flash viewer?

I have a question regarding editing the project online:

Will it be possible for more than one person to edit things in the same instance of the project? ... meaning Can we edit what's actually online or only our perspective version of it?

If it's made possible for the users to edit the actual online entity of the project, then allowing for a private mode, community mode, and selective access mode (for small group projects), would be beyond amazing to me. That is what's really needed to provide quicker learning, greater interactivity and communication, plus the development of cooperation and teaching through Action how to work as a team towards a common goal. This is what could turn Scratch from an average klik-interface with a great website, into a truly revolutionary masterpiece.

So, umm ... will that ever happen?

@MabonBaladevaKain:

Possibly! One of the features planned for Scratch 2.0 is to have easier collaboration tools - and it could definitely include what you just mentioned.  smile

No specifics have been mentioned - but something similar may happen.

I know for a fact that nXIII is designing a collaborative website for Scratch. He isn't sure whether or not the Scratch Team will allow space on their website for it though.

Yeah. It has the same design as the random block from DesignBlocks.

I hate it.

Scratch is visual, but pictures on blocks ruin it and make it childish to the extreme.

I'm glad to think that the community will always be kind and helpful, the language will always be a fun and easy way to be introduced into programming, the motto will always be: Imagine, Program, Share - Nomolos

Yeah, you're right. Also, it's weird that It's the only block with a picture on it. And it could be confusing to new members because it doesn't say Pick Random on it. I would like it if it was next to the words, but it's not. Yeah, I change my mind. I don't like it.

If there is a slider, sometimes the sliding thing is hidden but if you click on that slider variable is appears.

Re: Help test a new way to play with Scratch projects online!

I think I have found another problem. I saw this project yesterday and found that it didn't work online. So I fixed it. However, both projects don't work at the Experimental Viewer.

EDIT: Another bug: The 's' block at the end of the last script in that project is a list block but it's orange.

This works fine I have a bug but... I don't really know if it is a bug or not, might be a mistake in the game!

Re: Help test a new way to play with Scratch projects online!

It seems as though the flash version is unable to handle a few things. It's faster in some projects, but freezes up ones that have many complex scripts running simultaneously. The projects that are more orderly seem to run better somehow. Something else that caught my eye is dropdowns. When you click on the arrow, it shows the menu, but when you release the mouse, it disappears. You have to hold it down to set it. This is a bit awkward to do.
Edit:
A large amount of costumes doesn't seem to create too much lag. In fact, it creates almost no lag whatsoever.

1. Why reporters do not show the result if I click on them?
2. Sometimes obsolete blocks cause errors

Offline it draws normal.
Online with classical viewer and new viewer it draws it a bit worse.
