Remember, if you also want information about the user to enter in, including personal info, then there are 8 year olds and lower as well.

I disagree
If you want the Facebook layout, go back to Facebook
Scratch is okay the way it is

Nah, Being creative and making projects is the point of scratch.
If you want to chat just open up facebook.
I was a member of a website about making your own games before scratch, they decided to make it like twitter and facebook and introduced groups and chatting on the home page, suddenly the whole community just got worse and worse.

I TOTALLY DISAGREE
facebook is a chat site where people post every 10 seconds of their life for future work employers and FBI to find. it has stupid games and no creativity.
scratch is an educational site where people post, not their life, but their creative projects for people to comment on and improve.
i'm really not worried about this since i know that the scratch team will never change the great current layout anyway.

Facebook is designed to be chat-easy - why do the same with Scratch when it's not for chat?

Make some sense and we'll talk.

If you make a suggestion, don't "write it quickly" or else no one will take you seriously (including me). Take time to think about it and write about it, because just about nothing you're saying is making any sense to me. And it won't be changed "for the good".

I agree with everyone else. Scratch isn't supposed to be like Facebook. What would the point be? And please try to be a bit more coherent when you write a suggestion, because what you wrote is hard to read.

Cool idea! I saw the project, and I see how it could be done.
However, in simplest form, the reason that it shouldn't happen, is that Scratch is not a social networking website - and it never will be. So it wouldn't really work.

I don't agree. Why change it to a layout that everyone knows instead of being unique?

SCRATCH IS FINE THE WAY IT IS. If you want to be able to post and get quick replies, go to Facebook Twitter Delicious I don't know. I think this topic should be closed

Yeah, I agree. Everyone is saying no, and I agree with everyone else. Making Scratch like Facebook just isn't right, and the Scratch team would NEVER really think about it, for a couple of reasons:
1. If Scratch DID ever put an online chat system, they would have to hire ALOT of moderators, since we don't want any bullying on Scratch. Plus, people have their ways and means of getting past a word filter, so that wont work.
2. WHAT WOULD BE THE UTER* POINT? I mean, Scratch is made for educational purposes, for basic programming so you can get a head start in game making or animation. Not for posting every thought you can think of. Scratch isn't a social networking site, and I SERIOUSLY doubt it will ever be. Chrischb also pointed this out

So, I know you may have a good imagination, but if you really want something like this, why don't you go ahead, learn some HTML and other website programming languages and program your own Facebook style programming site for beginners??
Sab
*Uter is a word I tend to use in the area I am in. I don't know if you use it, but if you don't, the sentence still makes perfect sense without that word.

Woot I got quoted
But if you think this should be closed, why did you bump it? It was buried for 7 months or so... Dx
