Less brain size > more intelligence? - A theory

Extremely large mammals, such as elephants, aren't as intelligent as humans. And humans aren't as intelligent as mice, as mice can pick up signals and predict natural disasters. Also, every time you learn something new, a new crevice appears in your brain, making it smaller.

Discuss.

Re: Less brain size > more intelligence? - A theory

Humans are more intelligent than mice . . . just because they can sense natural disasters doesn't make them any less dumb.

It's true that intelligence is not directly proportionate to brain size, but that doesn't mean the smaller the brain the smarter. Far from it.

Actually, mice are more intelligent, just not as developed. They can't communicate that well. Also, if mice weren't that intelligent, why do elephants run away from them?

Cause elephants are afraid they will kill them and guts will spurt and be gross, that's why most people run away form animals that aren't dangerous but they're scared of.

No, because in the past, mice outsmarted elephants. It says so in Hindu Mythology.

Sorry, didn't know you were Hindu.

But no offense, I don't believe in that religion.

Re: Less brain size > more intelligence? - A theory

yeah... mice aren't as smart. and the intelligence doesn't mean anything about how scary something is. people are afraid of hieghts. that doesn't even have a brain. mice don't have cars, or airplanes, or anything like that.

I don't think intelligence is based on brain size. It's actually based on the brain's mass.

no offense, but hindu mythology isn't accurate, it's all made up
but that's not me picking on hindu mythology in general, i think that all religions are made up...
so no, mice are not as smart as humans, and as soon as you bring mythology or religion into it, that's when I stop believing that you may be accurate.
