Instuments Not Working

The instruments aren't working. I just came back from my Grandparents house and the instruments worked on their computer, but on my home computer the insruments don't! I'm running Scratch on Windows XP. I downloaded the easy installer too. Anyway, is this common? And what should I do to get the instruments working?

Re: Instuments Not Working

Hobbs1100, you might want to check if MIDI is configured correctly on your computer, and if the MIDI volume is not turned down all the way (as it sometimes is). For a start try double clicking on the speaker symbol in the system tray (the part of the Windows task bar to the far right), and make sure every channel is turned on with the volume up.

Did that help?

Re: Instuments Not Working

Nope.... unfortunatly.... The instrumments on my projects I made in Hamilton work, but not on my computer. So I don't think it's the MIDI.

Re: Instuments Not Working

Sorry that didn't help, Hobbs1100. Does MIDI work with other programs on your computer? Does it play MIDI-files in the Windows Media Player?

Re: Instuments Not Working

They do. It's really weird that it doesn't work.

Re: Instuments Not Working

Okay, sorry that didn't work. How about looking in the system menu (click on the Scratch-cat logo) select VM-Preferences and make sure everything in category Display and Sound is checked....
