My little sister, ChickenBobRox, wants to make a side account called "Tord_is_sexy" (because of her crush on Tord from Eddsworld) but she isn't sure whether the word sexy is allowed in a username. Is it allowed?

Its not the best of words to use on scratch, but unless she uses it in a bad way she probably will not get banned.

Banning is quite a bit of a last resort... The Scratch Team will only ban people with seriously inappropriate usernames. For example, there's a user called "helltank," who is actually a very well-respected member of the community... I don't think we should judge people by their username.

The only problem is younger scratchers getting desensitized to that type of stuff, although TV does waaaaay more towards that, it's not a good thing to encourage, but it's up to her.

helltank is still on, but I think we shouldn't include things like that. Thanks for asking first, though.

Probably not. There have been cases where that word is used in the account name and the account is blocked on the grounds of using an inappropriate username. I believe she will have to choose something else.

I'm not sure if it's a bad word, but your sister must be pretty lonley if she has a crush on an animated character.

A quote by Carly Shay: I'd rather be alone and crotchety!
A quote by Sam Puckett: Crotchety... it's funny 'cause it sounds wrong.

Well, just to insure that she doesn't get banned, you should choose a different username.

That's a good idea - if there's a chance it might be out of line, then don't do it. Stay well within reason

Right. No sense risking it. She can always express her, uh, attraction in a better way.

I'd say so.
It's best to avoid those sort of things... Could be insulting to other users... And there are some rather young children on this website, never forget that.

[offtopic]I'm seriously flattered.[/offtopic]
As for the question, the word does not exactly offend me now, but it might have when I was younger. I'd say use something like... "<that guy>_is_cool"?

I don't think it's a bad word exactly... for example, "Ace-of-Spades is very sexy"
But I don't think it should be allowed on Scratch, nor should any parodies of that word be ever allowed. (I might shoot myself if I see any 'smexi's around here, it's part of the reason why I enjoy this place and keep my sanity)

How about Tord_Is_Awesome, or Tord_Is_Cool or something like that?
Offline
I dont think its that bad of a word, but yeah. As coolstuff said, it isn`t a word we should encourage. Maybe she should try "Tord is handsome" or something

There are better words to use, like terminator68 posted. She should probably request the Scratch Team to delete the account, and make a new one. Or that's what I would do.

Just out of total curiosity, what does a ban look like? In a dialogue box like the HTML-in-notes prank or as a webpage like most sites? I've been wondering ever since I found the HTML-in-notes prank (as said above).
