I JUST noticed this a couple weeks ago when I was posting a comment and I was like, woah, I've never seen that before!

I noticed it when I first joined, but I had no idea what it was    When I was told it was my IP address, I didn't know what an IP address was 

I noticed that ages ago. It isn't really a glitch.

No, the whole page had no content except the menu and the background, and then my IP.

Did'ja try refreshing?

Hmm, I know another weird login glitch. Sometimes on my iPod when I log in it comes up with my page, but Im still not logged in!

It doesn't say my IP address, but gives my country.

I think it was there for development so the Scratch Team could see if their IPs matched up while testing the system. I guess they just never decided to take it away. 

Actually, we left it up there for troubleshooting purposes. A lot of schools funnel all their activity through a single IP address. I'm sure you'll all be shocked to hear that not every kid in school is always respectful  , so sometimes we have to block school IPs.

When a teacher contacts us to ask to be unblocked, they often don't know their own IP, so we just tell them to look on the bottom of the page and tell us. It makes it a lot easier.
