Currently I've been working on a game called Smart Fun, and since I got Panther, I've decided to make V1 multiplayer. It was going to be V2 but Panther makes multiplayer 5x easier. But anyways, I was wondering what I should do for a server. For the final release I need one that's up 24/7. I don't know if I could solve that problem, so I'm asking you. Would I need to get SQL R2 or something like that? Help me (your name here), you're my only hope.

P.S. This topic will serve as the official topic for this game, more info is coming soon.
P.P.S. I'm making a website. I need suggestions for a host. I was thinking weebly. Or maybe on my website. I know HTML.
P.P.P.S. The site is almost done. I'm gonna convert to weebly hopefully soon.

What exactly do you need help with? I don't understand Mesh and all, but why would you need someone's server to be up 24/7?

I think your best bet for serving is to get a website address, and then write some php code. people can use the URL reading blocks in Panther to trigger php scripts, so you should be able to get simple messages and counting set up. I know of no way of WRITING something specific to a page using Panther but I think you probably can if you know enough smalltalk and php. Hope that helps.

It won't have a link unless he uploads it to a media share website. He is using Panther and not Scratch. Ignore the first thing I said, it will obviously have a link since he is trying to get a host for the server.

How exactly will Paradoxial host this game? How would you use Mesh like this?

If the game is made in Panther, the project can be hosted on our sharing section of our site and might even get featured! (unfortunately we can only offer to host it if it's under 5mb because weebly is annoying.

He can just hit host mesh and post up the IP address given, then people can join, as long as he leaves his internet connection plugged in and panther on

I'm guessing about 40-60% done.

What do you actually do in the game? Can you give us some concepts?

how are you sharing info between projects? and what can you share, e.g. numbers or text or images or what? I'm intriqued by this idea and a decription of how you are doing this would be cool!
Here:
What goes on during the game:
You complete a set of challenge worksheets to gain stars
Stars give you Bonus Features and make the games, worksheets, and challenge worksheets harder.
You need 5 stars to beat the game.
Normal Worksheets are practice challenges.
Minigames are like practices for the normal and challenge worksheets.
-------
What it is going to do goes like this:
It asks for a username and password and saves them as variables.
It tells the server to save the username and password in a list format.
It creates an empty line for the number of worksheets you've competed.
It does that for how many challenge worksheet.
It does that for how many stars you have too.
-------
Multiplayer
Multiplayer games are minigames that are multiplayer.
For this example, I'm going to use Multiplication Tic-Tac-Toe
You find someone to play with.
When it's your turn, you are asked a multiplication problem based off of your # of stars.
If you answer it in the given time (30 seconds, maybe), you place a X or O.
3 in a row wins.
-------
How multiplayer works
When you start, the server creates a temporary list.
When you place a X or O, it sends the server something like X22
The X means you are placing a X.
The first 2 means you are placing it 2 rows down.
The second 2 means you are placing it 2 colums across.
When the other person's game sees that, It places a X in the middle on its screen
That repeats till someone wins.

P.S. I would like a second developer. Just post a link to your best game and say if you would want to do the game or the server (PHP and MySQL, probably) or both.
