I just looked at the project and it's still running fine, what are you guys talking about?
Sidenote: There is no way Summer will be removed from the site. It has virtually no violence.
Apart from people being killed. But you're right, it doesn't have enough violence to be removed from the site. But the Scratch team has still decided that it's not suitable for all ages. So it's not allowed on the front page.

Is anyone going to reply to my post? I spent like eight minutes on it

You accused one of my projects as being violent.
Don't fight fire with fire, you'll just get burned.
That does not apply to those who are made of fire... I don't remember who said that.
And seriously, if this project is considered not appropriate for everyone, scratch has become worse than 4Kids.

I don't like the way that there are no guidelines for violence in projects. What is considered too violent for the frontpage? My project mario rpg_revised features a monster attacking a human so is that violent? What about if a human character falls in a pit or bumps into a monster, is the human suffering in those also too much? I think the rules need to be more detailed because I think that Rhy's summer project is pretty mild so that brings up the question of "how mild should projects be"? Also, people should be given a chance to change the project to get rid of the "not safe for all" status.
This.
The terms of use isn't very specific - including violence. I know they do it so it looks more short and friendly so people are more likely to read it, not like a big wall of text where you click "I ACCEPT" without actually reading it - but perhaps there could be an extended version?

THE PROJECT IS NOT INAPPROPRIATE
That depends all on opinion.
And to make sure the website is the most secure, and available for kids as many ages as possible so even the strictest of parents can like, they have to do this.
Perhaps most average and over-average opinions would be that it's totally appropriate, but the Scratch team has to include the under-average opinions too, that say it's inappropriate.

RHY, i know how you feel. i just got my new project Metal Slug pulled off the front page, and it took forever to make. i don't think your project was as violent as mine but still. a great programmer like you has to learn to not make anything remotely violent if you want it to be seen. btw Summer was great and gave me an idea for my next game (includes lazars).

What is '4Kids'?

4Kids is a company that dubs cartoons from other countries, but they censor everything. He's suggesting Scratch has become like that.

When the Scratch Team reviews a project based on the Terms of Use, we can decide to do one of three things. The first is mark it "For Everyone" - meaning the project is appropriate for all ages. We can also mark it "Not for Everyone," meaning the project is a bit too edgy for the front page. The third classification is "Censored," and that removes the project entirely.
I am making a game about the Scratch Cat. In the game, he has laser powers that he uses to defeat enemies. Do you think that that might be too violent? The enemies (as of v1.1) are black cats that disappear when they get defeated. I really hope it isn't too violent

I wouldn't think so, but I'm not involved with moderating projects, so I'm not sure. As long as there isn't any implications of violence, it should work fine

If summer is not for everyone, yes. Yes it is.

I think the Scratch Team can tag a project in a way that means "It's not appropriate for everyone, but most people should be able to view it with no adverse effect". Don't quote me on that, 'cuz I'm not sure... I remember reading something about it a looong time ago (or, I think I read something like that
).
If that's the case, then maybe it's the fact that there are human victims? I don't know the exact rules governing projects on the frontpage... But that might be it![]()
In my opinion furries are more inappropriate than blocks of pixels..
Furries doesn't equal perverted.

If a parent was so overprotective that they wouldn't let their kids see any bit of violence, I don't think they'd let their kids on here at all, or on the internet for that manner.

Necropost.
And it WAS on the front page, but it was barred.

But you have to admit that four-year-olds are different than 12-year-olds. And as there are both on here, we have to cater to the lowest possible standard.
