I went and requested an acount but it's been more than a day since I requested and I still have not been told if im approved or disapproved.

Is it normal to wait this long or should I know if I am in or not.

I haven't requested for a Wiki account, but there may be a lot of requests, so it takes a while to accept them.

Just wait a few days - they have to manually approve every account, which can take a lot of work smile Have patience!
