I has a problem...
I have a microphone plugged into my computer, and whenever I try to use it on Scratch, it is an epic fail (meaning it doesn't work AT ALL). The mic works, but is kinda old. SOMEBODEE HALP!

Does it work on anything besides Scratch? If not, it could just be your microphone.

it works on the computer, i mean, the little bar showing how loud you are talking is wavering...but it doesn't work on Scratch

How are you trying to test your microphone? Try this - open up Scratch, and have the <loud?> block's Stage Monitor show. Yell into the microphone - does the value in the Stage Monitor change? If so, then your microphone's working...

Here's what you do if you can't get it to work. Now, I'm assuming you have Windows, if not, you're out of luck, and I can't help you.
Open the Start menu, then:
All Programs > Accesories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder
Press the record and talk, then save it. It should come out as a .wav file.
Import it to Scratch, and there you have it.
