I don't like this new age pop either. I listen too old stuff like Boston (I saw them in concert
), The Who, Electric Light Orchestra, Journey, Queen, Roy Orbison (I guy who can sing for real), Van Halen, Led Zepplin, etc. But I don't like Motley Cue, Metalica, Ozzy Osbourne, or Nirvana. I choose talent over screaming and unintelligent messages.

There's a Bohemian Raphsody music video by the Muppet's on youtube. Pretty funny (it spoofs Queens real music video)

Who doesn't? All of the songs these days have techno beats and stuff. But at least some people (but not all) use real voices.

I'm just going to state my opinion on this:
Not all new music these days are horrible, it's just the ones that are MADE ONLY to make money. If you actually listen to the songs that Lady Gaga and Kevin Rudolf sing (In Kevin's case, when HE's the one who's singing), they actually have pretty deep meanings.
I cannot stand the songs Justin Bieber sings. He was made a overnight sensation because of what I call 'The Fangirl Industry'. This is where people make a lot of money off of girls of many ages who love Justin Bieber for some reason- as well as the annoying way of making the songs so horribly catchy. And his voice actually ISNT that high- they edit his songs, as well as the fact he doesn't write his own songs (As far as I know).
I can't stand it. When someone starts singing the horribly catchy songs which unfortunately top the charts today, I want to blast it out with some Led Zeplin, Skillet, Dragonforce, Van Halen, Anything but that.
On the topic of the song Fireflies by Owl City (I did not read that far, as I am on my iPod.), I only like it because it is suposably about Global Warming.

I'm an all-around rocker, everything from the Beatles to Megadeth. Although my main preference seems to be 80s Hair Metal and Grunge.

Hey, I like Electric Light Orchestra, too! My favorite songs by ELO are Mr. Blue Sky and Don't Bring Me Down. Yeah, I listen to 70s and 80s music, even though I'm 11 1/2

Listen to newer music that ISN'T playing on popular radio (like Gorillaz & The Offspring). There IS still real music, in the world.
But sadly, it doesn't go any more popular than some kids with a brain in their head listening to them. Kids today have no appreciation for REAL music, just pretty boys (Justin Bieber) and drunk girls (Ke$ha) who think they can sing. Justin Bieber is so darn stupid and Ke$ha is so darn immature!

What exactly do you call "REAL" music?

Weird Al, Green Day, Linkin Park, The Offspring, Rage Against The Machine, and the holy Gorillaz.
THAT's what I call real music.

Real music: Music, that contain decent singers that aren't pretty boys (Justin Bieber), immaturity (Ke$ha), or screech songs offkey. Most "real" music are from eras before the 2000s (In my opinion).
I think I've been listening to much 70s and 80s music

Actually, I'd like to hear you defend the whole list. But skip Green Day. I agree with them.
