A lot of people associate songs like Owl City's "Fireflies" with REAL New Age. The REAL New Age isn't that bad, but most people I know don't like it. I like it myself.
Then please give some examples of "REAL New Age".
http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNjM3NTUxODA=.html, a good example. Good?

Ok artists want the computer crash of 1983 to happen again with music.

I personally think that the "classic rock" era of the mid-60s thru the late-80s will eventually come back. Coldplay is just one example.
Nahh. Classis Rock isn't coming back. Music just gets worse and worse.
Yep. Soon it'll just be screeching and screaming inaudible obscene words.
Oh wait. It already is.![]()
Haha, agreed.
I spelled Classic wrong.
I look like an idiot XD

lol.
Some new age is bleh, but I do actually do like some.
Some of it honestly makes me want to shoot myself or my radio.
Evanscene FTW. 'Nuff said. (HOW ARE THEY NOT POPULAR!?!?!)

Kei$ha, Lady Gaga, and Justin Bieber are all my anti-idols. They make me want to die. They pretend to have talent. It's all the auto tune.

Seconded.
To me, it's dumb to think something's good or bad just because it's inappropriate, or vice versa.

I disagree with you. There are still some pretty phenomenal bands and artists out there, but sadly, most people don't listen to music that doesn't play on the radio or mTV. I mean, people complain about music, but then they're all like "Yeah, I like Journey," bit that's only because Journey was really popular. Do any of you listen to underground music? You know, stuff that's not so popular? I could give you a few names if you want.

Depends. I'm not into some of the more modern music, but some stuff's good.

So here's the deal:
As 16Skittles said before, there's never gonna be another Led Zeppelin, Guns N Roses, KISS, etc. If someone tried, they would never be able to stand at such a high caliber as the bands of the 80s and 70s. Take Kurt Cobain, for example. He alone changed the entire face of music in the early 90s. No one will be able to do the things he did.
We just have to wait this era out until the Gods of Rock come to save us. TO THE BUNKER

I know. Nirvana was amazing. Too bad Kurt killed himself.

"Fireflies" by Owl City is NOT about his dead girlfriend, "Vanilla Twilight" is. It's one of those songs you never hear on the radio. It is a pretty depressing song.

Something similar to that happened to me, too. I don't know anyone else my age who listens to The Police. They rock!
Everyone I know who hates old music never even gave it a chance. People should always try new things, and that includes music. I always listen to a song before saying how much it blows, because I never know. Maybe it doesn't blow as much as I think it would.
