Re: free animations

Another site for sprites - (I've removed the link as the sprites are copies of games already made and in breach of copyright if used and posted on scratch!)

Re: free animations

uncleclives -

Another member of the Scratch Team showed us this website a while ago when we were thinking about sounds to include in our library. You might want to check it out.

Here are a few for starters

Musical instruments

All sorts of sound effects and samples
http://simplythebest.net/sounds/WAV/WAV_sounds.html
http://www.pacdv.com/sounds/index.html

Links for free FX
http://stonewashed.net/sfx.html

Although 'Game Maker' is a well known program for (surprise, surprise) making games, it's website offers a wide range of links to other sites for accessing resources and is well worth a look:

Re: free animations

While not a the best site for animations, by far an away the best source of "free" images on the web right now is the Wikimedia Commons:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/

This is the multi-lingual image repository that is primarily supporting Wikipedia, but it also contains images used in other Wikimedia projects.  Nearly every historical place on the Earth has at least one picture in this archive, and a surprising number of historical people as well.  With over 1.5 million media files (some sound, a very view video clips, and mostly images), it is hard to find something that isn't in there.  They are also royalty free images, and in most cases you would be perfectly fine with redistributing even libraries of these images with your Scratch projects.

Re: free animations

The Pygame site has links to lots of good resources for your games: http://www.pygame.org/wiki/resources

Spritelib: http://www.flyingyogi.com/fun/spritelib.html has some good arcade-game type images

Lost Garden has several sets of tiles for prototyping (or finished) games: http://www.lostgarden.com/index.html (look for SpaceCute, Prototyping Tiles, Tyrian ships

Famfamfam has a set of icons that could be useful for making more application-like games: http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/silk/

One resource that's listed on the Pygame page above that I'd like to call special attention to is Reiner's tile set (http://reinerstileset.4players.de/englisch.htm), which is just packed with awesome art, all ready to animate.  There is a very small example of a dragon from one of his many collections in my "Click the Dragon" demo: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/delza/776

Lot's of good material out there for Scratchers.

Free Sound FX & Music Loops:
http://www.flashkit.com/
Love that site, there are tons of high-quality sounds.
I'm good at drawing, and I made an Animated Sprites gallery, but I couldn't upload it. Message says: "Failed: a primitive has failed."
Other projects upload very fast, I don't know what to do. My best projects: Animated Sprites Gallery and Weather Simulator both encounter this problem while uploading.

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>

Re: free animations

tsgk.captainn.net/
go there its also known as the shy guy kingdom its got thousands of sprites,

P.S. to get them  go to sprite sheet info copy and paste them in to a drawing software (if you have paint it  works best) then take the tool that allows you to cut a box, cut the sprite out, copy it then go to another paint, paste it and make sure there isnt alot of extra room (blank stuff) then save it, then go to file new, then repeat.
