So now that this suggestion has been on here for a while, I thought of another little problem that would have to be addressed. Let's say you have a script that you collapse, and then you organize your scripts so that they're orderly. When you expand the script, what happens? Does it cover up the scripts underneath, or do they move down out of the way? Just a thought.
Well I would think it would just overlap, but you could easily just right click and then clean up.
I agree.

Maybe something like this:
<when green flag clicked>
[blocks]<do sequence[XYZ]>[/blocks] <-This was supposed to be a block
where sequence would be another tab that stores sequences. It'd be nice to be able to export sequences like we can do sprites with scripts.
BYOB has that feature. Its slightly better than broadcasts because they can be reporters and booleans, and they can take inputs and allow recursion. Its a good idea.

This is a great idea. I support!
Oh, and since Harakou is a moderator, why don't you color his name on the supporter list red? I'm not sure though.

Well, I'm sure that'd be a lot of work for the ST to make. And it's not very necessary-Scratch isn't a slow program, anyways. And on a giant 1s1s project, it'd probably lag up the program when you hide/show it. And if it's a long script, how'd it show when you have your mouse over it?

Ah, but one of the main reasons for lag when editing large scripts is that the entire script has to be redrawn. This would actually alleviate that problem. (Admittedly, it's probably a moot point since Scratch 2.0 will be in Flash and probably won't have that problem, but meh. )
In regards to the preview, it would only show a certain part of the script before cutting off.

But let's say it would still use smalltalk, if you press show on a ridiculously giant script, wouldn't it lag?

Well, no more than it would if you were trying to work with the full-size script in any other way.

In Scratch 1.2, turn fill-screen off, click on the white space, choose "open" then "workspace". Then paste the contents of this file there (Alt+V). Click the "-" in the top-right of the text-box. Choose more, then file it in.
Viola, you have collapsible scripts!

Bump. Pure support BTW.
