"Subscribe"

A great idea for the scratch website could be "subscribing" kinda like youtube. So that when a user you subscribe to makes  a new project you can get a message or it can show up on the front page, similar to the "Friends latest projects" thing. Tell me what you think of the idea!

Re: "Subscribe"

I think this might already be implemented. Above everyone's projects there is a subscribe link that looks like this: "http://scratch.mit.edu/img/feed-icon.gif Subscribe" I believe it sends you e-mails, but maybe someone else knows exactly what it sends you.

Good idea, but it already exists.

You can friend someone and their project will appear on the front page. Try it!  big_smile

That would be an RSS feed. You add it to your list of RSS feeds in your browser and, depending on how it works in your browser, you are able to retrieve the latest info from each RSS feed (which, in this case, would be notifications about new projects the user has uploaded).

It's pretty awesome. I use the Flock browser, and my RSS feeds turn from blue to orange whenever someone has uploaded a project  smile

Yeah, I bookmarked the RSS feed for my messages, so if I am forum...ing, I can check them.  smile
