Read the following rumors from the 2.0 Wiki page

http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/Scratch_2.0

-Scratch will be rewritten completely, in Flash instead of Squeak.
-The Java Player will not be used anymore. A Flash player is to be used, directly from the Scratch project being played.
-Scratch will be available on other platforms.
These are my favorite rumors. Espically the flash designer and player. Here comes scratch wii games! Maybe.

Wow, people actually look up stuff on the wiki!  yikes

tongue

The 'rumors' came from what the Scratch Team said - it should be correct.  smile

Re: Read the following rumors from the 2.0 Wiki page

Yep, that's what the Team has confirmed.

However, I'm not so sure about this line:

The Scratch Team has mentioned that if and when there is a beta version, an announcement will be posted on the Scratch Website.

Does anyone remember where it came from? I don't want to edit it just yet.

Re: Read the following rumors from the 2.0 Wiki page

See who edited it and then you'll know who added this line.

WAIT. I'M CHECKING IT.......

edit--
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That line is well placed as it is because the OLDER LINE SAID-

The Scratch Website's layout will be changed along with the new release. Testers who have been chosen to beta test the program will be contacted and given the beta, once it is available.

and it was changed to-

There is currently not a beta version nor beta testers. The Scratch Team has mentioned that if and when there is a beta version an announcement will be posted on the Scratch website
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new line creates lesser confusion than the older line.

Therefore we should keep the line
