Better flagging system

To make the flagging system even better, here's what should happen:

1: Notifications about your project or comment flagged
and....
2: Being able to flag users with innapropriete icons or usernames.

These are sugestions for the Scratch Team for the next site update or future updates.

Re: Better flagging system

I agree with #2 - but for now you'll just have to use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of each page, which serves its purpose well enough.

As for #1... It might actually sort of flip the system in that the user could update the project to take out inappropriate content after it's been flagged, but before a member of the Scratch Team sees it. Also, I don't see what uses it might have...

I think notifications would be good - say a scratcher uploaded a project with some violence. In his house, this is okay, but others might find it offensive.  Somebody flags it, the maker gets a message, and he quickly edits out the violence. The project is not removed, and the user is happy! If he didn't edit out the violence, a moderator would remove the project. Moderators would also have a link to see the flagged version of the project if they wanted.

I'm currently taking a break from Scratch.
Zing - now even easier to install!

The only problem with what you said is that violence is allowed.

That makes sense. Maybe if it gets flagged, a moderator could review it and see if it should be taken off the site; if it just gets close they could get a notification...
