Re: A Uber-Challange!

Well, it would be difficult to make, but I'd certainly love to see it happen  smile

HTML5 is the future! Woo-hoo!

Re: A Uber-Challange!

someone might try to make a simple scratch-like program in ECMAscript (look at me, using the official name  tongue  ), but it would possibly mean the removal of things like pen and sound.  hmm  it would need to be made from the ground up. maybe a collab could work.

Re: A Uber-Challange!

I heard (but I'm not sure) that there is a hard-to-find Squeak applet, so Scratch could easily be translated to an applet, and then translate that applet to JavaScript.

Re: A Uber-Challange!

Pen and sound could be lost, they are not majour. Sound would not work on most the systems, and just use cloneing for pen!

I will help, JD.  I don't know JS (yet), but it is just another language to add to my list!  smile

Re: A Uber-Challange!

You could implant the online viewer into a Javascript script, but that's kinda cheating. I know a little bit of Javascript.

Although, you could make it so you can flip through a user's projects by pressing a little arrow by using this.

Re: A Uber-Challange!

Maybe you should have it covert to a .jar file?

sb2jar would be a better idea.

I'm sure most of the languages they're testing 'work on the web'.

HTML5 would be much better (and most likely easier) to make Scratch.

Yes, I know, it woud require some major applet modifying, but im sure its possible, unlike javascript.

WikipediaJavaScript is primarily used in the form of client-side JavaScript, [b wrote:

I don't think Javascript is possible to make scratch projects run on the internet without the applet.

Most of these devices don't execute JS fast enough to run an application like Scratch.

Does anyone have the filetype specification for 1.4? We'd need that to be able to deserialize an .sb file.

Scratch applet. You can't make the scratch applet in javascript. Javascript isn't made to run games, thats what Java is capable of doing. There two seperate things.

Can anyone make Scratch run in .javascript

NOT JAVA but javascript, like on web browsers.

So you could play Scratch games on a mobile devices such as:
Nintendo Wii
Nintendo DS
PSP
Mobile Phones
PDA's

It could be done in 2 ways:
Make a mod to save them as javascript code

or

Make a program to change .sb to .javascript

So are YOU up to the challange

Re: A Uber-Challange!

Just a note: HTML is not dynamic, meaning content can't change itself on the page in HTML. That's where DHTML (the trio - HTML, CSS, & JavaScript) comes in.
