It sounds like you have this very well thought out. I'm out of suggestions, but I can't wait.

Do you have a rough estimate of what month we will see the release of Scratch Labs?
Well, this is VERY rough, but I'd imagine August or September... It'll take a while to program; and while I've done lots of work with PHP and MySQL, this is a much larger scale than I've ever done before so it's a learning experience for sure

I see that you are observant
Don't worry I make this mistake a lot too...
EDIT: 800 posts! yay

Sounds awesome coolstuff! I've been looking for a better way to do collaborations for Scratch. It sounds like you've got a solid idea in your head of what the website should be like.
I'll post any suggestions I think of

So, I'm redesigning the layout to make it look a little more Scratch-like, and realized I still need some sort of a slogan. Anybody want to help me come up with one? Something to the same format as the Scratch website's "Imagine - Program - Share."
By the way, don't expect this to come out for another couple months at least.

Tough, the only thing that I have come up with the is even remotely related, although it is in the wrong order:
Imagine - Program - Pair
Doesn't work. So nevermind. Don't use it.

Sounds cool! I'd love to help with php/mysql/js, etc if the need arises. Incidentially, I was looking at registering a Scratch-related domain for, eh, similar purposes, but amazingly s.crat.ch and scratch.er are unavailable

hmmm.... sounds interesting....

Both fg123's and iCode-747's suggestions are amazing - though pretty much identical, fg123's seems to be in a better order. I was impressed by both of them, though

Thanks for the offer! At the moment, this is a solo project, but I'll call on you (and a few other people who volunteered) if I should need to

Really? Might I ask what these "similar purposes" are?

There appears to be a problem: the words are too long to fit in the space! I love the words, but my layout isn't flexible enough... Making the words smaller takes the emphasis away from them...
Any other suggestions?

Collaborate - Collaborate - Collaborate

How about something like:
Imagine - Interact - Produce (well, eh... Produce does not quite fit...)
That's good! So far I have Imagine - Interact- Create as a placeholder, but if you have anything better to suggest I'd be happy to hear it!

My question is, how do you plan to handle communication if there is no private messaging? I am imagining a system where a user can create a collaboration (sort of like a private gallery, maybe with a Facebook-style "discussions" feature) and only invite certain people to it. Is that what you have in mind?
As for the "similar project", I've been planning to implement my own Scratch upload site, just for kicks. I would love to register http://scratch.er, but unfortunately .er domain names are associated with the nation of Eritrea and they're not open for registration.
Keep us posted, ScratchLabs sounds fascinating.
How about this for a slogan:
Imagine | Connect | Exchange ...?
Exchange sounds kind of off, how about DESTROY or PROFIT instead?

It would be something of an open comments feature - something like these forums, actually, though there would really only be one thread, though that does bring up a good concept of multiple topics. I'll sit on that for a while
I actually brought up different types of collaborations, which sort of addresses this:
I wrote:
Open - Allow anyone to add and view projects, and discuss the collaboration.
Medium - Only members of your collaboration may add projects, anyone can view and discuss.
Closed - Only members of your collaboration may add, view, or discuss projects in the collaboration.
Hidden - The collaboration will be invisible to anybody who is not a member of said collaboration; membership is by invite only.

I considered making a Scratch upload site, too, but I settled on this

That sounds good, too. "Exchange" seems a bit better than "Create..." But it's still not awfully great. I'll see what others have to say.
