Wow, great idea! And knowing you and HPSRC, you will do great with this one! If you need any help programming, I'd be sure to help you program some pages

Thanks! For the moment, I'm not needing any help programming anything, but if I ever need anything I'll come to you and fg123 right away.
Thanks, and don't forget JSO. Wait, woah. Me, fg123, and JSO are all programmers of SR
What a coincidence

Well, JSO never asked to help. On the contrary, fg123 did ask.
But thank you so much for your very kind offer! I'll come to you right away if I do need help

No problemo.
Any other suggestions? Particularly collaboration features which you might like to see?
adrian: lol
maybe a chat. Where you could upload scratch projects in real time?

Sorry, no chatrooms. Too hard to moderate
- I'm not saying it'll be a particularly active website, but there will be a pretty simple way to discuss the collaborations, sort of like forums.

How about private(not messaging) but message boards. Like topics can only be seen by members of the collaboration.

Maybe there could be a create collab button, and when that is created, you can select the members of the collab, and there will be a real time chat for the members to discuss etc. Like google wave.

Yep, that's a feature that I've already programmed. You can choose which privacy settings you want, which are:
Open - Allow anyone to add and view projects, and discuss the collaboration.
Medium - Only members of your collaboration may add projects, anyone can view and discuss.
Closed - Only members of your collaboration may add, view, or discuss projects in the collaboration.
Hidden - The collaboration will be invisible to anybody who is not a member of said collaboration; membership is by invite only.
I'm thinking of changing it so that you can check off which things you want private or not... What do you guys want?

Yep, that's definitely in there. Except it's probably not going to be real-time.

Not yet... Still I've got to program the whole thing
Or at least the majority of it.

Hey, it's never too early to plan ahead!

A lot of collaboration contains more than two people. On the collab. forums, you make a list of what you need. programmers, animaters, etc..., and then random people join. Could there be some recommendation system, to recommend someone you want to work with. They will recieve a message somehow and then have the choice to join the collab, or decline, and not join the collab.
This idea is not 100% good, but if you could build off of it, it would add a nice feature!

Idea- Efficiant file sharing- Did you already mention this?
Whatever. When I collaborate, I hate uploading thingd that everyone can see, it would be nice to be able to upload .sb and .pt files without anybody but collab mambers seeing them.
Just letting my mind wander.

There's going to be a button to invite somebody into a collaboration. Thanks!

There will be an uploader for .sb files. And maybe .pt files. And you can choose to have them only visible to members of your collaboration... See an above post of mine.

It sounds like you have this very well thought out. I'm out of suggestions, but I can't wait.
Do you have a rough estimate of what month we will see the release of Scratch Labs?

Well, this is VERY rough, but I'd imagine August or September... It'll take a while to program; and while I've done lots of work with PHP and MySQL, this is a much larger scale than I've ever done before so it's a learning experience for sure

Hey, that's okay! I was expecting it to come out after Scratch 2.0!
I think you have some great ideas and need to take your time to make them as close to perfect as possible.

Thanks for all your enthusiasm!
I've just programmed a collaboration creator... There's a few glitches that need to be worked out, but it's working just fine other than that.

Basically, I'll be programming a Scratch collaborations website from scratch (no pun intended). It'll have advanced collaborations features just perfect for Scratch and should provide better collaborations than the Scratch website does (which are very limited).
It'll be coded from the bottom up with PHP and MySQL, standard. Thus far I've managed to create a login system, and a bit of the collaborations system and I'll tell you when I've made more. The layout is quite similar to that of the Forums.
So, what would you like to see in ScratchLabs?
What won't be included are forums and a private messaging system. Sorry.
Um, would chatting count as forums? Or comments?

scratchlabs.com has a Trojan virus!
Yes, I'm a snooper.

Yes, I'm a snooper.
Then I won't use ScratchLabs.com
And it's not a Trojan virus

Well, there will be collaboration features like comments, and I guess you're free to chat with that as long as you stay polite.
