Basically, I'll be programming a Scratch collaborations website from scratch (no pun intended). It'll have advanced collaborations features just perfect for Scratch and should provide better collaborations than the Scratch website does (which are very limited).
It'll be coded from the bottom up with PHP and MySQL, standard. Thus far I've managed to create a login system, and a bit of the collaborations system and I'll tell you when I've made more. The layout is quite similar to that of the Forums.
So, what would you like to see in ScratchLabs?
What won't be included are forums and a private messaging system. Sorry.

Good idea.
Any ideas as to what features you want to see?
I've got a pretty good idea of what there will be, and a smidge of it is coded right now, but the feedback from the community is pretty valuable as you are the ones who will be (hopefully) using the website.

Make a sprite database. So if I type in sniper, I get a sniper sprite.
That's what Scratch Resources is for.
coolstuff: I know a lot of php and mysql, can I please help?

Perhaps a catergorizing system by geanra(spelled wrong) of collaberation. So shooter, arcade, racing, etc.

What's the URL gonna be?

I can't wait to see what ScratchLabs will bring!
It seems that loyal scratch users, like you, do an extra thing for Scratch. I see you are doing ScratchLabs!
So, ideas... Well first off, collaborating with a person in the real world is all about sharing ideas to produce a final product. If you don't communicate with that person, your final product will not turn out very well. So in ScratchLabs, or in any collaboration, there needs to be communication. Communication does not mean just words or talking, it also means sharing visual content, such as Scratch projects. This does not exactly mean you need a fancy web server to share things on ScratchLabs. The key part is that is must be SAFE. Safe for everyone to use obeying Scratch's Terms of Use.
You probably didn't get much out of that
, but whatever, I can't wait to see what you have in store for us!

I'm not allowed to host it at labs.scratch.mit.edu, they only let you get on there if you have an exceptional website, and mine doesn't exist yet. I'm going to use a web host for now. Sorry, but for now this is going to be a solo project... Sorry!

Yep, I've definitely been keeping that in mind. It's got to have ways to communicate that stay safe... I'll be moderating it, so people can flag disrespectful discussions that go against the Terms of Use, and I've explicitly said on the website that it will follow the Scratch ToU.

Yeah, that'll be there. [/sarcasm]

Well, you know how there's a collaboration forum? Like that, except better

Great idea! That'll probably be in there. Just remember that it's for collaborating, not for sharing projects with others. The finished product can be uploaded to the Scratch website.
Thanks everyone for your feedback! Keep it comin'!

It's free, and I'm keeping it a secret for now
And don't worry about it, if I didn't want questions I wouldn't have made this thread! Please, ask away, my friend!
