One day I was reading 50 Dangerous Things You Should Let Your Kids Do when I came across the word wanderlust. I instantly thought that was an awesome word, and then an idea started forming in my head... An awesome idea...
What is Project Wanderlust?
Project Wanderlust is a game development project where the goal is to create a game called Wanderlust: A game about exploration, survival, discovery and wanderlust. The game will be a 3D free form exploration game created in Unity that will be different every time you play.
Why are you telling us this?
Because I need help, this is going to be a big project, and I just don't get C#, Blender, or Boo. I'm not that much of a coder or 3D artist, more of an ideas guy, so I need a lot of help.
What do you need help with?/Who do you need for your team?
I need coders, web developers, 3D artists (for characters, world, and creatures.?), 2D artists (For the interfaces and HUD), and other stuff. If you think you can help, please reply to this post and tell me how you can help and show me some examples of your work. Make sure to check out the Unity website and the other links in this post. Check the resources list below for links to check.
What will Wanderlust be?
Wanderlust will be a 3D free form exploration game like I explained above. The game will feature a real-time battle system and a randomly generated world, much like Pandora from Borderlands so that every time you play, you have a different game experience.

Awesome! I love using Unity. I going to take a c++ class, but not untill later, so I can't really help. Tell me if there's anything I can do.

You know Unity
Cool, if you know how to use Blender or some other 3D thing like it, you can make character models. Or you can design an interface, like the Main Menu. We need buttons like "New Character" "Load Character" "Options" and stuff like that.

Cool
I'll add you to the team.
I've made several worlds in Unity. I'm good with terrain...
Can I see some of them? Also, do you have any idea of how we could randomly generate terrain?

I'm more of an ideas guy myself. If I was any better at coding, Space RPG would be an actual game.
But anyway, interesting concept. How about a system where some enemies can "follow" you, so you can't escape them when you quit/restart!

I like that idea, but I don't know how we would use it in a randomly generated world...
We might be able to find out a way, but I was thinking you save the game by setting up camp. Maybe if there are enemies that are aware of you, you can't set up camp.

There is a Unity Terrain Plugin that generates random terrain.
Here.
