HTML in forums

Scratch has BBCode in their forms, and HTML might be a good feature too. That way we could have more advanced things in our forum posts.

Re: HTML in forums

It's a great idea, but the problem is that some people will abuse the system that way.

What that guy said. Not to mention fluxbb can't support it. It's garbage

Re: HTML in forums

I'd prefer HTML over BBCode any day  smile . But BBC works just as well, minus a few things that aren't 100% needed anyway.
Also, HTML is slightly harder to use than BBCode, so some users might get confused by it.

And like coolstuff says, it's easier to abuse HTML than BBC...

Re: HTML in forums

The problem with that is imagine how much it will slow down the server. People will put applets containing their newest projects in them and it would really gum up the forums.

Not just that, but the ability to screw up the webpages would be infinite. One could easily put comment tags around something and hide a plethora of posts. Hackers have new realms of hacking available to them. Overall, a good, but very unsafe idea.

Re: HTML in forums

HTML wouldn't be a good idea. You know "Webs" if I downgrade an account to HTML, I can remove all ads and "Create a free site" links. Now what would people do with that power on the Scratch forums.

Find someone post count. Click posts under username. Find number of pages. Times that by 40 for min and 60 for max and you have a rough estimate of post count.

Re: HTML in forums

I'm happy with BBCode - I see lots of ways to make it do what I want.  smile

EDIT: If you're really trying to get a post to look how you want it, you can always edit a screenshot and upload it as an image.  big_smile

I fall: It's a tragedy. You fall: It's comedy.
Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.

Exactly what Chrischb means. You can always make an image.
