I am making (along with like five other things
) an exact replica of Pacman on scratch. This will include the personality of the AI's and the 256th level 'bug.' I'll probably need help getting this to work right. If you want to help just reply (obviously)

Good question! When you get to the 256 level of Pacman, the right side of the screen becomes a jumble of seemingly random letters and symbols. The reason for this is that the 8 bit level counter can only reach 255, so when you get to 256, it corrupts the program and makes it impossible to continue. Here's a picture:

Well, Pacman didn't have good graphics anyway, but I already made Pacman and the dot system, so you can work on the AI, sound good?

I'll try, might take a bit, but I think I can get it.

I can't get past level 1!! As for your other question, you can do whatever you want. you could work on the AI with MasterOfDeception...

Heres the next version http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/MasterO … on/1112547 but it is still a bit glitchy HALP!!
I think I will look up the pacman ai program to try and get it.
Shouldent this be moved to the colaboration forums?

How I was thinking of doing it was to use 2 lists, and Pacman would record it's last 30 x and y positions in them, then, if the ghost's x and y positions matched the list's x and y positions, they would follow by setting their x and y to the next in the lists. Reply if I wasn't clear enough.

Good idea, but what does it do if the player's position is not on the list, beacuse if you use a random number it tends to go in a circle and how do you make it not try to move into a wall when it is not homing in. Also, the player would not be able to "outsmart" the ai like in normal pacman.

I don't get what the first one means, but for the second one, yes you would be able to outsmart it by making a lot of turns, I think.

I mean what if the xy on the list were (1,1) (1,6) (6,6) and the ghosts xy were (5,7). and no, you would not be able to "outsmart" it beacuse when you move, a new number is recorded and the ghost goes up on the list.
Also, how would you program that, and SRR, can you put your movement program up so I can use that (I have my own but I want to program with the one that will be in the game).
