I'm new to Scratch but am enjoying it a great deal. I have read here and there on the forums about things that for some reason don't run as fast as you would think. For example, I saw a recent post that said that a repeat block executes more slowly than the same code actually repeated a number of times in series.
I'm sure there are a number of other do's and don'ts that the more experience Scratchers could provide with respect to making scripts run more efficiently. If you have some tips, please post them in this thread. If enough good information is posted, maybe the mods could sticky this thread for future reference.

Well, one thing I have learned from previous experience is that, instead of using broadcasts for everything, use variables set to 1 or 0 or yes or no. This speeds up the scripts a bit and cuts down the lag.
