Importing pictures

Hi, I made a background on microsoft powerpoint, but couldn't get it to show up on scratch!  I want to know what kind of pictures work, and what don't.

Is it a picture file? I think Scratch can import most standard picture files - which may or may not be limited to this list:
.jpg
.jpeg
.png
.gif
.bmp

On PowerPoint, you say?
Well, right-click the image and hit "Save As..." in PowerPoint, then open Scratch and hit the "Import Sprite from file" button, then you click your image and done.
