How to "spam"

WARNING: The following text isn't actually intended to encourage spamming. Spamming should not be practiced and is annoying and rude.
It is BAD. VERY BAD. VERY VERY BAD. VERY VERY VERY BAD. VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY BAD!!

                                                       ~~~
I'm sure it has happened to all of us at some point. You're minding your own buisness, then some random user spams on one of your projects, galleries or forums, posting a link to one of their projects, galleries, or forums saying that its great. It is VERY annoying and can be maddening!
If you have held yourself back from doing the same because it has already happened to you, then you came to the right place! I will replace the words "showing someone your project POLITLY" with "spamming" to make this a little more interesting. IMPORTANT: I do not really mean spamming.
The following messages might help with getting some more views:
                                                     ~~~

1. PICK
  Before you spam, pick a project of yours that actually works WELL first. Then find another project (someone else's) that is destined for spamming. IMPORTANT: It should have something to do with the project you want so much to brag about. I mean, don't you hate it when someone posts a link to a project that has absolutley nothing in common with with yours?

2. PRAISE
Post a comment that praises the other person's project a lot. And I mean a whole bunch of the stuff. Chock full of it is best!
Example:

The Praiser wrote:

Wow! This is simply amazing! I love how the computer draws the solution to the maze. XD

3. SPAM
Now for the link. Don't just say a few sentences about how fantastic the project in question is, then post the link to yours all by itself. It won't make any sense. Instead, say something about how you happen to have a project like theirs, but its always a good idea to find something better than your project in the Spam Project. Add that. Then sprinkle some more more praise at the end.
Example:

The Bad Spammer (Sort of) wrote:

I also have a maze project called The aMAZEing Maze: (link to project) , but mine can't solve the it afterwards. Great job! :-D

4. Remember: Be Modest and don't be a jerk!

5.FINAL PRODUCT
Example:

The Good Spammer wrote:

Awesome! This is great! I have one like this: (link to project) , but mine doesn't (blanketyblanketyblank) like yours does. Sweet project, anyway!  big_smile

Conclusion:
That is how to "spam" on projects, galleries and forum threads. Have fun!  lol

PS: I find that a good way to make your projects more noticeable is to add lots of neon colors to them.

PPS: If you have any suggestions, just write back on this thread and I might add it.

Have a great day!  big_smile

Great! It's not quite "Spam" though  smile  Also, you should probably mention that spamming in general is something to avoid  smile

Re: How to "spam"

I get spam just about every day.  lol

Some people go "lol check out my proejct (link to project)" while others go "(link to project) look at this game! (NOT SPAM.)" It's annoying when they never actually bother to go through all of the stuff you described.

Spam is also an acronym for Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages, like posting "kldwkuqcoi" ten times on someone's project. But both kinds of spam are pretty irritating though.

P.S. Are you sure this is in the right section? It might be giving newbies the wrong message.

I know, right! Spamming can be very frustrating sometimes!
Also, good point. I hope that if they see the title they at least read this, because they might just go and start spamming. Or that they at least notice the quotes around spam before leaving. Its funny because I just meant to make the title interesting enough to cause people to want to read this! I sure hope I haven't encouraged new spammers! That would be bad.  sad   smile

PS: What section might it go in besides this? Because I put it in here because I would like the new Scratchers how to post links to their project while being polite and un-annoying. Sometimes the trial and error method isn't always the best.  big_smile

Re: How to "spam"

So far, no one has ever spammed me, except a newbie who didn't know the rules and was quickly stopped by Survivorduck and me. I've seen others being spammed, though. It was horrible:

Some [removed wrote:

spammer]
HEYHEYHEYHEY YA ALL DIS PROJECT SUX [removed] GO VISIT MAHN AT <link to project>!!!!!

The Project Maker wrote:

Please stop spamming. Also, this is an animation, while yours is the Scratch Cat spinning repeatedly.

Spammer wrote:

YOU TROLL!!!!! IMA FLAG YOU [removed] SON OF A [removed] WHO CANT EVEN MAKE A SIMPLE ANIMATION PROPERLY YOU NOOOBBBBBBB!!!!!!!

The worst thing was, the spammer was a day old, and the project maker was over 2 years old. And the spammer was calling the project maker noob. Not to mention the animation was one of the best I've ever seen.

Well, that's the mark of a troll. Just ignore them and report their comment.

They probably just want attention; don't give them what they want.  smile

Re: How to "spam"

Basically, lie about their project, and try to squeeze free advertisement out of them. Then lie about them some more so they don't hate you. Excellent.

Re: How to "spam"

I hate spammers. I find a wonderful project, by M44, or some other amazing scratcher, and its littered with spam! Its even more annoying when its YOUR project getting spammed!

Wow - I'm surprised this topic is still open. You should be telling people how NOT to scam, never mind scamming.

I would avoid getting called a noob and see the project, even if it was boring. I also would tell the spammer that I seen the project and loved it, and favorited it!  lol
