Here are some things that are different:
All words starting with 'z' start with 's'; same pronunciation. ("Zuid-Afrika" --> "Suid-Afrika")
Simpler grammar
[maybe different] Questions starting with a verb are in the format Verb-Subject-Object. "Do you write letters?" transliterates to "Write you letters?"
