My school's having them in a few minutes. It's a really big deal, like everyone puts up hundreds of flyers to vote for them. We listen to speeches, then we decide.
Anyone else having these?

Oh yeah - my school does that too
. President, Vice President, and Secretary Students of the school - along with one person from each homeroom to represent the people

We just had some elections for "Student Council Co-Presidents"...all the pairs had identical platforms, I kept meaning to bring that up during the debate but they only took questions from the people who were waving their hands obnoxiously

I won mine!
I've been a great representative, fighting for the people, and I've actually tried to take down the puppet government of the Middle School!
We get to call her [The President] Ms. President.
Well, my term has been very successful, although crime in the 6th grade has risen.
Good luck!

we have student council, but why vote at the end of the year?

To vote for the president, V.P., etc. for next year. What would be the point of voting at the beginning of the year? No one would no who's who.

probably my problem this year. I only started at my new school (skipped a grade) a week or two before the elections.

You don't really have to be that jealous.
Usually they start by making a big deal about it, and there's lots of campaigning and stuff, but after that, it's no big deal, and they end up making fairly few changes to the school.

I'm in student council. But since everyone is so irrisponsible in the sixth grade, we didnt have to vote, i just got in. The requirements for mine were:
As and Bs
Two reccomendations
things you would change about the school paragraph
These had to be in order, then the people voted, but again, not enough people actually passed their forms in, so i just was put in(my requirement were in order too)
it would have been more fun if we voted though

Try every PERSON. That's the downside of being at art school. Everyone is insane. And not the good insane.
And by art I mean every art, not just drawing art. Vocal, dramatics, strings et cetera

Its funny how the kid's favorite maths teacher forces out a cheap laugh, while everyone else turns around in their seat to see if any one else is laughing. xD

Unfortunately no to that either. It was more like screaming and whooping and clapping. Absolutely crazy.
Lucky my altitude was high in the west balcony seats and the sound got quiet before it reached me up there

Well I'm in fifth grade lol. Third, fourth, and fifth grade classes each get to vote on two 'representatives' for their class. Every year since third grade I won the elections. I put representatives in quotes because really Student Council doesn't have a say in much at my school. But I think it's awesome because this year almost everyone who was in student council for fourth grade was in my class, and I didn't even think I'd win. But yay
I did. Our school doesn't make a big deal out of it though, but I'm just in Elementary school, so it's probably different.
