Why is copying such a big deal to everyone? It's just a project. Anyway, the "based on" will probably give the rightful owner credit. Even if you don't receive credit, why does it matter so much that a huge discussion is made about one little copying issue?

No, because that wouldn't stop him, I reported someone and I got a message saying "don't use other people as excuses to harass people" so we can't report him and we flagged his projects but that didn't stop him.

2 things, 1. no one payed attention until a little while ago, 2 it matters because people put work into projects and he took the and said I made this all by myself, me, Loopydoo, so that's why it matters. How would u feel if someone took one of your projects and put it in their name?
