Registration date?

Hi - I've been pondering this for a while. Is there any way of finding out exactly what day you joined Scratch?

I can't remember if I joined the forums on the same day as I joined the website, so my forum registration date might not be reliable...

Any info on this is appreciated - thanks in advance  smile

Re: Registration date?

I don't think there is a way... but if I recall correctly, the Scratch Team is planning to fix the problem with the Forums registration date display so that it would display the actual date.  smile

Re: Registration date?

Using Rita's personalized statistics charts I think we might be able to find out.  smile  I asked her about adding a "Registered: YYYY-MM-DD" stamp to everyone's "my stuff" page, but it may not be that easy.

Re: Registration date?

If you saved a project on the day you joined, do this:

1. Open the project
2. Shift-click File
3. Click "Write Project Summary"
4. Let it write
5. Check the date of the first save

Re: Registration date?

If you shared a project around the time you joined, you can look at it and see how old it is, and then estimate your age.  smile

Chrischb's one gives the exact date - if you can, use it!  smile

The thing that Neptune mentioned should be in Scratch 2.0 - I think we'll be able to choose the date from the date you registered, the date you first visited the forums (that's  the current one), and the date of your first post. (The dates are all different for me...  big_smile )

EDIT: Another method - did you upload your icon on the day you joined, and have never changed it since? If so, go to your stuff, right-click the icon and select properties - somewhere in the shown url is the date it was uploaded. That's your registration date, of course.  smile

Thanks!  big_smile  I remember saving a project on my brother's computer on the day I joined (I was showing him how to use Scratch, and made a project with him to give him the idea.) I shall go and ask to check his files in a minute!

Bah... he won't let me...  hmm

Anyway, I know that my brother shared that project on his account the day we joined... (well during the night, but close enough)... And, it has an ID number that is just before 600,000...  big_smile  So, I searched the forums, and found the thread for counting down to the 600,000th project... I found two numbers that it was between, and worked out that:

My "Scratch'ing birthday" is the 8th of July.  big_smile  The same day as my forum registration date... odd, I don't remember finding the forums until later... maybe I clicked the button without knowing, while I was exploring...  hmm

Hmm... I changed my icon yesterday...  hmm  But my brother has never changed his... but it says that he changed it yesterday in the properties... considering that he hasn't logged in for a couple of months,  find this odd...  hmm

Thank you both so much!  big_smile
