You have to wait another 3 or so months and then see if you get elected - it's really a matter of the community choosing you  smile

Also of the Scratch Team choosing you - they have to choose you before the community can.  tongue

I'm going to run for Mod in the 2011 January-Febuary Moderator Elections!

Re: Questions about Scratch community moderator elections...

I disapprove of us having Moderator Elections. Wasn't it just a few months back that we banned all political related themes from Scratch? So then why do we have this? Do you know how easily someone unfit to become a moderator can come into power? What happened to the good old days where the Scratch Team hand-selected Moderators they thought would do a good job at the position? I'm not going to vote for anyone ever.

Well, the Scratch team chooses the candidates before the community votes, so they still have a say in who gets the position.

There's still a chance only bad candidates run. Although it's really low since half the forum community runs.

If they think you're "evil" or suspect that you might do a bad job, they wouldn't even let you be a candidate in the final election.

Re: Questions about Scratch community moderator elections...

wow! i'd love to enter! i have my speech ready too!

i have always wanted to be a community moderator and i'm sure i never will. but, if i do enter, it would be so nice to see at least 100 votes under my name. i have never been popular and i haven't even gotten over 80 view on any project i made. and, i have a lot of projects, i would say.  most, are pretty good. i'm sure september's voting will lead to a different scracher, let alone, mabye we don't need one beacause all the others are doing great. (it's true...) i do hope you get my point. which artist claimed that everone will have 5 minutes of fame? oh yeah! andy warhol. well i need that 5 minutes... i have alway noticed that moderators are pretty nice. honestly, think i am too... even though i think mod would be great for me, i bet there are other great canidates that have this same problem. THATS why i want to be mod. and why you should vote for me   smile

I hope you get to choose when you leave! It would be a shame to have you not be a moderator anymore. :3
