I want to say to those who were not selected that it was a difficult process choosing.
The main criteria were described on the Community Moderators page:1. Has been active on the website and forums for at least 6 months.
2. Is willing to commit to moderate based on the Scratch Terms of Use and the Community Moderator Guidelines.
3. Has a history of positive interactions on the site in which they have demonstrated kindness, patience, and helpfulness. But we also considered which Scratchers might work best with one another. And, as always, we think it's important to try to choose candidates that represent the different members of the forums and the greater Scratch community.
So if you weren't selected this time, it really doesn't mean you wouldn't be selected the next time. Remember, in 4 months time we'll be considering each new candidate's "...history of positive interactions on the site in which they have demonstrated kindness, patience, and helpfulness." When it comes to this, recent history is more important than the distant past. How you've been in the past counts for something, but how you are in the next 4 months counts for more.
Scratch On!
Thanks for clearing that up.
Obviously applying only a few weeks after my ban was a bad idea...

Happy campaigning!
In this vein, here is my thread for campaigning http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=36099
It's not exclusively for my campaign, check it out and you'll see the format.

Nope, no results until Friday.
Okay
On another note, how many will be chosen, in the end, as moderators?

I just thanked Andres on wave, but I was told he doesn't go on very often. Could you spread this message to the rest of the Scratch Team for me?
Here:
I don't know who exactly chose the moderator candidates, but if you were one of them, I would love to say a big THANK YOU!!!
I hope you could also express my joy to your fellow Scratch Teamers.
I will see you this weekend as long as you are at Scratch Day @ MIT.
Thanks again,
Dazachi

I just realized that this election is open to everyone, not just Scratch users. This means I can just ask all 400 of my friends on Facebook to vote for me! I won't, however, but I would like to know if this has been addressed at all.

Yeah, that would be cheating.
I think they should create a page on the Scratch website for voting, and only members can use it.
