Yes.
You don't have FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter, or Digg! FAIL!
Rant about FaceBook: Scratch is better than all of them. Scratch is what I have that I love that I don't get bored of. While my friends play games on FaceBook, I program games on Scratch!
Unless you need one for transportation, or if you go all over the place and you want to have a way to contact your parents, than no.
Disclaimer: I have nothing against FaceBook or other sites. I just like Scratch more.

It's stupid to say 4th grader's should, but you can. But anybody younger, shouldn't! Unless you're parents are seperated, and you visit the other often.

I'm in 5th grade, my dad wants to get me an iPhone. I want the iTouch, my dad says it's the same price, so why not the iPhone? He'll let me buy games etc, use the iTouch part. And then instead of borrowing his, if I'm allowed - Bring mine. Instead of getting another phone, when I'm older - Use the iPhone. Yeah.

Of course, as long as it's a fisherprice phone so it can survive the falls.

I kind of do. Like if I need to be picked up if its really rainy or something. I've been begging my mom to let me go into town by myself, and a phone should be necessary in that time. If she let me have a phone, I'd be able to go to town with my friend (s)

I'm in high school and I don't have one. Everyone else seems to though. I want an iPhone. But the only reason i want a phone is to play games on it when I'm bored.

I think it's too young.
I don't think a fourth or fifth grader should have a phone.

I got my mobile when I was 12 and 3/4... Which is still way too young, in my opinion... but I was going to France with my school, and my parents wanted a way to contact me... So they made me get a mobile... I knew I'd never use it, so I chose the cheapest one in the shop...

I haven't used it since a week after I bought it, so I was right there... I felt really guilty when I got it... I knew about the brain damage possibilities, so I only ever used it to text my mum when I got over the border into France... Texting doesn't do so much damage, as the phone is further away...![]()
But I'd conclude:
There's no point, unless you go to unfamiliar places without your parents a lot, or your parents want to contact you for any reason. If so, go for the cheapest phone possible...![]()
Brain damage?

i think your too young. I got mine the summer before sixth grade. my brother is in fourth grade and hes not getting one untill 6th. theres really no point for a fourth grader to have one... but if you DO get one soon, just get one tht doesnt hav a keyborad 4 txting...most people's first fones are like tht. once u get a new 1 u can get a keyborad...(i hav no clue why im saying this cuz my first fone (i still hav it) has a keybored...dk y but it does (LG Neon, green)
