Looks good, here's a few:
The player flips in the air while jumping
Platforms that push you forward or backward, (like a travelator or a treadmill)
Power ups: Fire, Mega Jump, Invicibility, (too name a few)
Thanks!

Time puzzles like Chronotron and The Company of Myself. Perhaps powerups based on time? (Rewind: Regain health. Pause: Freeze time. Fast Forward: Increases player's speed and jump height, but at the cost of speeding up enemies too. Skip: Skip a level both ways. Useful for returning to a previous level or for passing a hard level. Slo-mo: Slow down time.)

Sucuity pass doors (E.G: Complete a number sequence to get passed)

Honestly, there are enough "scrolling platformers." There really are plenty, and have become one of the generic projects to see. Even pimping out the platformer with cool stuff completely changing gameplay is just going to take you back down to the pit of every other scrolling platformer. My suggestion is that you come up with an original idea for a project that hasn't been done a 1000 times. Even adding shooting, and guns, and whatnot, it all falls back to that repetitive slow sidescrolling platforming.
