Hi, I've been running Scratch on my mac (with Leopard) for a while now with no problems. I hooked up the Scratch board yesterday and have attempted to track sound sensor values. It seemed to work the first time, but every time since it has sent my computer into a downward spiral resulting in a stubborn color swirl. My whole computer freezes, Scratch won't even "force quit" and I have to reboot. On a side note, it seems to run fine in Parallels (regular Windows XP).
Has anyone else had any issues with the Scratch board using Leopard? I appreciate any suggestions.

Hi tcaup,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems getting the Scratch Board to work on your Mac. Because the hardware works fine under you Windows XP partition, I suspect that the problem lies with the particular driver that you have for the USB-to-serial converter that ships with Scratch Board. The driver for OSX we direct users to from the website may not be the best available driver for Leopard users. A company named Prolific supplies drivers for the particular cable you have - perhaps you can find a more recent driver that won't cause problems with your specific machine. Perhaps you have access to another USB-to-serial converter cable that you can try. Keyspan drivers are relatively expensive, but they are known to work across multiple platforms.
