Run for the hills! All flights in the UK are grounded. People in the north are smelling this ashy smell because a volcano has errupted in iceland and the ash is coming towards britan.
Anybody in the UK? I'm in the south west (NOT DEVON OR CORNWALL) so it'll be a bit later until it's over head.

Wrong about the flight part.
Many flights are cancelled in England, All in Scotland's are cancelled, not sure about Ireland.
Still, it sounds quite amazing that it happened.
They fear it may set off a bigger volcano.

30,000ft is 6km! According to official sources, thats is impossible to see by the naked eye!
We'll get a redder sunset tonight, though
And if it's still light out when the cloud comes over where I am, I'll take my telescope out to see if I can see anything... I probably won't be able to, but it's an excuse to use it...

It's a good thing I'm over here in the United States. Volcanoes scare me! I think Britain'll get through this, though.

It's the beginning of the end. How many major earthquakes in Haiti, Chile, Indonesia, US/Mexico, and China... Go figure.
