One of my projects got plagiarized and I'd like to report it....
How? Do I use "Contact Us" or flag the project?
I'm mad and would like to see it go. Someone completely copied one of my projects, another person said "LOL" at it, I said in reply, "Thanks. He copied off of one of my projects so you are thanking me." The project "creator" said in reply, "did not changed name". Does changing the name change the project? Or does the grammar mean something else? I said "Changing the name doesn't change the project" and the 'creator' deleted my comment. Don't understand? Here it is in "comment" format.

Changing the project name does nothing about copying!

One time some plagiarized my best project - I told them that if they did not remove their copy or change it enough, I would flag it. That apparently scared him/her - the reply was along the lines of "Aaaaaah, I don't know how to remove projects!". Anyway... they can either make it a legal remix or remove the project - otherwise you flag it and the Scratch Team can solve the problem. No matter which one happens, you win.

It's like people don't how much to change something before it isn't copying...
Just changing music is copying, right?
And then changing the name is copying, definitely...
We might need a sticky to tell these people!

Aww, I mispelled it...
I already flagged the project, I posted another comment, they deleted it. Some time ago.
Should I report the user?
How about naming the new thread "All About Plagiarism"

Let's just tell plagiarizers that if they don't change the projects enough or remove them, they'll get flagged. The result - either real remixes, or the copies gone!

Did you flag the project?
Or did they change it into a real remix?

Still there.
Unchanged.
This is like Day 6.

Hey Greatdane, exact copies of projects are not allowed on the Scratch website. Feel free to flag it as inappropriate and remember to give a link and the reason for flagging.

Should I use the "Contact Us" link?
It could have been accidentally overlooked, the report still pending, or maybe the message wasn't so clear to the Scratch Team. You can try using the Contact Us link to discuss the situation.

Finally I get the answer.
In the beginning I said if I should flag or use "Contact us".
Thanks.

Ooh, I can't give you that, that's really mean to the creator. They are noticed for their bad things.
Let's just say the project is a remix of a "popular" project of mine?
I'm pretty sure you can figure it out. It's the only one with well over 1000 views.
It has 1 remix.

This happened to me too. Someone coppied my project "3D (original) GameBoy". The only difference was that he/she typed "3D GAME BOY" on the screen. He/she didn't give me any credit at all and claimed it as his/her own. Is it still considered plagarism if he/she only changed it by something this small?

Just an idea... if someone copies your project, forget about it. To one degree or another we are all copying someone's ideas anyway.
There's a big difference between uploading a carbon copy of someone else's project and claiming it as your own, and having a project that incorporates elements that other projects have. How would you feel if someone got a lot of views, positive comments, etc on an exact copy of your project? I would feel ripped off.

I wouldn't care one bit, but I wouldn't expect that to be a popular point of view, it just happens to be mine. But I care more about what I can learn and helping others. Old nerd, remember? My second comment was REALLY my point anyway

The problem is, if I let him/her get away with it, then that person might do it again, and copy off of other scratchers. You need to teach scratchers that plagarism is definitely not right. In fact, if my project were copyrighted (which of course it's not), coppying it would be illeagal.
