Hi everyone, I know a lot of you use Paint.Net, Photoshop and other tools like that to edit and create images for your sprites. There is a new website called Aviary that has a lot of the features of Photoshop but it's totally on-line and free. They are looking for people to beta test their website and I thought some of you might be interested in checking it out. Their site is open by invitation only but you can register there to get an invitation: http://a.viary.com/
They said they were going to give higher priority to people coming from our site...

Hey Andres, awesome find! These guys have some really ambitious releases coming up! Mercy.
So hey, how do we tag ourselves as Scratchers for this priority thing you mentioned? Unless they're watching incoming HTTP referrers from this link and associating them with signup requests, all they got from me was my email address and area of interest, sans knowledge of my kittycode involvement.
Which reminds me, is the default kitty sprite named "Scratch"? I was just staring at the logo at the top of the screen and into my head floated, "HEY - maybe that's the kitty's name. That was so off-topic; I'm sorry.
Anyways, if you know how we should let them know that we're Scratchers, that would be really cool. ;]

I think they are checking the referrer URL. So you probably want to click from the link here.
The Scratch mascot did not have a name but everyone on this website calls it Scratch, so maybe we should follow suit and assume that's the new name. I am not sure if it's a he or a she though.

Great find! Its a cool idea - online image editing. Sounds very promising for future technologies.
Signed up. Hopefully they will accept all or most of the Scratchers!

Scratch the cat. Sounds like a she, but what should I know?

I just got my Aviary account today! Here is a 480x360 image I created in Aviary to test the process getting things into Scratch:

(link is to the image page, not directly to the image)
And the test project I put it in:

I've taken screenshots of the process of creating an image for use in Scratch, start-to-finish. I will be posting a visual walkthru / tutorial on my website soon, for those who are interested.
I highly recommend this for all Scratchers!

Don't forget to click on the link from my post so they know you're coming from Scratch. I met one of the guys who runs that website and he was very excited to see how people could use Aviary in the making of sprites for Scratch.

Well I still don't have one so what do you mean by message you? Put my email back in on the A.viary website?
EDIT: It's worth a try...
EDIT #2: .... If that wasn't what you meant, then do you mean message your Scratch account? (or maybe it was what you meant-what do I know?)

I've sent a couple of requests. Haven't heard back yet.
I currently use Paint.NET (getpaint.net) so if anyone never gets an invatation then Paint.NET's great! Online image editing seems like a promising idea, though.
