In a few months, I'm getting... I'm getting...
DUN DUN DUN....
Braces ._. I've heard from several people that they hurt like [removed by Forum Moderator] when you first get them in, and when you get them tightened. Also I heard they were tedious to clean after you eat. On top of that, I might look wierd with braces D:

Don't worry
I got braces in January (or February..?) 2009, and they don't hurt too much. They ache a little at first (as I have mentioned to many people in real life, don't lick your teeth for about five minutes after you get them on - the glue tastes horrible), but you get used to it.
They nearly always give you a little box of wax after you get them tightened (to stop the brace rubbing on your mouth), but I prefered to use a hockey gumshield, because taking a gumshield off is easy - cleaning wax out of braces takes ages...

Braces sound... HORRIBLE
Because I've heard that you can't eat solid food with them for a while... And pretty much everything I eat is solid!![]()
Who told you that?! It's not 100% correct...
Admittedly, apples are a thing to avoid with braces, as they can break the wires... maybe they said "hard", not "solid"...
They're OK really, and once you've had braces, you'll find yourself advising others about them... Retainers, on the other hand, are very uncomfortable when tightened...

I don't like apples anyway
Can't remember who said it though.

There's a person in my class with braces and we call him Jaws
Steppenwulf, I hope you don't die from the surgery

They're actually not that bad. They only hurt a little, and only for a little bit. I heard a rumor when I was about to get mine off that they cut your mouth open, but it turned out not to be true. They're very careful. I haven't had braces since third grade, though. Things may have changed now.

UGH! I'm getting braces soon too, but first I have to get my wisdom teeth removed. I currently have fangs (the same tooth on each side of my mouth is really pointy; I actually cut my finger on one of them once) and I wonder what'll happen to them when I get braces. They are currently very high in my mouth, protruding from the side of my gums instead of the bottom. Does that make sense? XD
My dad said your mouth just feels sore, but that's not what everyone at school says...
Worrying much? XD
