i have found within the squeak browser a cache of fully functional scratch blocks that are not normally used because they are considered "obsolete". these blocks include things like "say nothing", the stretch effect blocks, and at least two new graphic effects. you can find this cache of block specs through this sqeak browser path:
Scratch-Objects/ScriptableScratchMorph(class)/block specs/obsoleteBlockSpecs

how do you get the blocks? do you copy paste them into the block specs or what? cuz in the blockspecs there is no section for "looks" blocks.
The process of bringing an obsolete block back into the palette is detailed here: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=31200
