i might have. but with questionmarks.

flaging bans the player, right? won't the person just open a new acount and do more annoying trolls?
Flagging sends a report to the Scratch Team to review - if they do ban the user, they can also use IP bans that prevents him/her from using alternate accounts.

IP bans are a last resort, though. Or so they say

Hi lolly1700 - it might be a better idea to contact the Scratch Team directly about this. Just use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of every page. Thanks!

I got a comment like that on one of my first projects, and although it was pretty horrible, he/she was pretty mean about it. I deleted the comment. But I got another one (different person) on a different project...
that happened to me, but more like "this isn't very good". i got the comment a long time after i posted the project. i just said, "yeah, well, i was new, so, yeah." if it's on an old project, that's a good attitude to have.

Yes, actually. that was basically what my first project's first ever comment said.
Same here.

Pshht! A flamer. He's all bark and no bite.
(I cried the first time I got flamed, but then bounced back and logiked my way out of it, humiliating the flamer as well.)

I find that hard to believe
Anyway, that would mean you just responded to a troll attack and tried to troll them back.
Don't give new members bad advice; that's exactly what they shouldn't try to do

I didn't troll them back, I said,"Why do you find my project bad?" and they were like,"Urm..." and the others were like,"Yeah, why?"

Yes, but you said humiliating him
That's not good either

Not exactly. The others were the ones humiliating. They were the ones going,"OMG NOOB", "TROLLLL", "TROLLER" and "Flagged".

When someone does this it is considered 'trolling'. Trolling is when someone decides to post something off-topic, that is rude or hurtful, just to get a reaction.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So How Do I Stop It?
Trolls are here for one thing. To annoy us. To get a reaction from us. So the best way to stop trolls is to not react!
When you get a rude comment like the one above, here's what to do:
◕ DON'T react. Don't even reply to them. Replying or reacting to them is what they want, eg. 'feeding the trolls'.
◕ If they are making rude comments on your projects, click the 'flag as inappropriate' button at the bottom left of their comment next to 'reply'.
http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/5773 … lololo.png
◕ If the rude comments continue, report the incident(s) to the Scratch Team. You can do that by clicking here.
◕ Add the person making rude comments on your projects to your ignore list if you no longer wish to recieve comments from them:
http://i44.tinypic.com/10fz4v5.png
◕ If they are posting rude things on your forum thread, just ignore them as above. If they continue to be rude and disruptive, click the 'report' button at the bottom right of their post:

Questions? Problems?
◕ If you still have problems with 'trolls' on your projects/threads, then tell us about it on this thread. Many scratch members in the community would be glad to help you
◕ If you have any questions, then post them in this thread. I will try and answer them and be as helpful as possible.
I have something to add to that: THE SUGAR BOWL METHOD (only use if ignoring them hasn't worked. WARNING: be cautious of your own comments. You may be labelled as annoying, but do you need these people in your life anyways?): If you have to reply, though, act sweet. Then friend them. Be as sickeningly sweet as cotton candy. Don't counter-attack with your own flames. Maybe there will be a reaction, but you can use my favorite saying, "I'm just trying to be NICE to you." Chances are, they will feel guilty and stop. If not, there happens to be a lovely little thing to the left called the ignore list. Use it. You aren't offending another user, and it's actually entertaining in the meantime to come up with a whole army of angelic comments.

Haha, an OK way to feed trolls.
I do to--- but with Anti-Troll bleach that turns trolls into food I eat!

These are some very helpful tips!
The fourth comment I ever got was "This project sucks". I found this little X thingy next to the comment and added the user to my ignore list.

With the "fake quote" situation, I think the best thing is to look closer. Criminals always make mistakes, and flamers are no exception (I'm not used to the "newfangled" term "troll"). EXAMPLE: Your username is RandomBlobbyAmeboa1747. A flamer has "fake quoted" you.

Magic Bunnies are my Specialty!
Your Tag Line is not "Magic Bunnies are my Specialty!". A flamer usually won't change a tag line just for flaming. Also, if you have numbers in your username, it can be mixed up. I dont know if this is the case for every situation, but it has worked for my friend.
NO SCRATCH"ERS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS POST (and sorry if someone's username is RandomBlobbyAmeboa1747, I just picked a random username)
