Stick People are the Reincarnation of God.

They are much more awesome than anime or any other type of drawn people.

Not true. They show you only put a very limited amount of time on graphics quality.

Graphics quality doesn't matter when you have cool stickmen.

I'd rather have a stickman as a platformer character than a silly anime cat with an emo fringe any day.

Hm, I don't remember saying I surrender.

In my opinion, RHY is not getting the point. Stickmen give an impression you gave little effort.

Stickman drawing time= 4 seconds
Another fully drawn character(cat, man, frog, ect.) drawing time= 4+ minutes.

Mario is pretty simple. And isn't really a man, nor simmy anthro cat with emo fringe, nor the most detailed frog evar.

Mario is a simple pixel drawing. Much like FMT's stickman.

A stickman run sequence is quite hard to set up for the average artist also. And again, I wouldn't like to see an anthro cat running through some platformer levels.

Stickmen have form too. Otherwise, they would kind of be one line with no bends.

Well, there are different definitions.

1.The visible shape or configuration of something.
2. Arrangements of parts; shape.
3. The body of a person or thing.
4. A mold, frame, or block in which something can be shaped.
And so on.

Yeah, that would be important if it was an animation or something, but it isn't. If they didn't use a stick man they would have used other ripped sprites which require a similar level or effort.

Also, many super popular flash games have been made with stick people and no one has had similar complaints with them.

The point is, it would look pretty stupid for the bottom character to be running around in a platforming game, so I'll have to say the top one.

And * is with that animal's EYES and back?

You're over-exaggerating. The player in my game doesn't look at all like the quoted stickman abomination above that you probably see in the mirror.

Yeah - that's kind of a really bad example of a stickman.

The stickman in fancy pants adventure (or whatever) is really well done and animated.

Doesn't everyone exagerrate? I wouldn't be talking.

And I don't look anything like a stick man. I'm a female, short, normal weight, actually have hair(which I love to put in overly large "bangs" >:3), not pale, and have like 20 freckles on my nose alone.

Ugh.

Realism isn't wanted in most games unless it's supposed to be serious. It doesn't matter if the stickman has any facial features, it's a stickman. It's a character, not a work of art.

Take this ball character I scanned in not too long ago:
http://i364.photobucket.com/albums/oo85/RHY3756547/Player.gif
Sure, it's simplistic and has no complex details, but it would WORK in a platforming game and people would like playing as that character more than an overdone deviant-art piece.

Sure, it's simplistic and has no complex details, but it would WORK in a platforming game and people would like playing as that character more than an overdone deviant-art piece.

It depends what the rest of the game looks like.
