Maybe you can have a check box to enable that. Some people want it and some people don't.

I find that I can use a wireless mouse and still click the shutter button from a fair distance away. It would be nice, though, if they had a way to trigger the shutter from the keyboard so I didn't have to try and locate that little button with the mouse at all!

But why wouldn't people want it? I do think the check box would be a good idea, though. But when the picture just takes you don't have time to move your hand away... well I guess it depends on what you're taking a picture of, but still...
