More and more posts are getting useless...

I've noticed that there's been a contest on who can have the most posts... that's fine, but I'm finding lots of posts that don't really mean anything.

Yeah, I'm really annoyed... but you know what makes me really annoyed? [you know who] only joined Scratch because he was bored and wanted to get the highest post count! That's ridiculous.  roll

I agree.  It's annoying because the primary function of the Forums is to provide a way to exchange information.  Posts that are made simply to increase a post count interfere with that function by cluttering up the threads.   

People that spam like that are putting their own enjoyment, using the Forums as a game, ahead of the needs of the community.

Hiding post counts could work, but (I'm ashamed to say this) I enjoy watching my number rise; it's satisfying watching it grow, like a plant.

A question: If post counts are hidden, would they still be visible in your profile?

Is there anything wrong with use?  smile

For now on I will make posts the do not contain the word "lol" or "XD" unless I have a fair size of text that makes sense.

One thing that would be good is if more people started posting in the non-inspiration and more section. I try to post in the others as often as I can.

That does get irritating, Chris. Even more irritating is when people comment a simple "lol"
on my projects.

There were more examples besides that...  tongue

My opinion on that one was that there were better wats to express it, such as:

"I agree with that too... it was rather funny.  lol  Have you tried..."
