With the announcement of Scratch 2.0 and its possible platform change to Flash, I am hoping that it would also work more like Flash. One of the things I am suggesting is a better Paint tool. Flash has better drawing tools and more features than Scratch's features, so I'm hoping that many of Flash's drawing tools (Inkbottle, Curve, etc.) will be incorporated into Scratch's Paint tool. Thw question is, will Paint be improved with 2.0? Also, I'm hearing about an online version of Scratch, and I'm worried about what will happen to the downloaded version. I'm glad that I'll be able to view projects online without downloading them, but the downloadable version of the program seems much more convenient than an online version. Will a downloadable program come with Scratch 2.0's release?

Yep, Scratch 2.0 will work on the web and be downloadable for working offline as well. We'll be re-building everything from the ground up, including the paint editor. Whenever we can, we'll use already existing features from Flash as long as they are simple and easy to use. So - no promises yet! - but it's likely the paint editor will take advantage of at least some of the graphics tools / features that come with Flash.

you can just use a different program and then put what you want on scratch.

Since the next version of scratch will be in flash, will there be VSG support?

Awesome! I was worried that it wouldn't be downloadable. Now I'm excited for 2.0!
