I joined for none of the above.
All my friends from a diff. website (Survivorduck, Rhy, Combinebobnt) noticed how poor the site was doing, and decided to move on.

I wanted to talk to Survivorduck, but she never ever checked the old site anymore.
So I decided to join.
( My first account was http://scratch.mit.edu/users/sleepingbeautiwing )
I was going to be this account username when I first joined, but I decided to let the old website users know it was me. So...
...when my account was hacked...
...I made this account.
I should say my account was phished.
We'll get that phishing site someday...
(my mom got attacked aswell.)
and now, I have more than 510 projects.
Amazing.

@markypark56: Unfortunately the game never ends. But if you've notice, I recently uploaded Spade Boards 2. This one simply doesn't start.
(I uploaded the very first copy I had on my pen drive instead of the finished one on my computer. I had to use another computer to use the sounds)

I joined after a friend at school told me about scratch.I was in the 5th grade at that time,and I was fascinated with programming.I had been learning basic,but what I really wanted to create games,so I took a step backward in efficiency for the ease of scratch.
